
It was Philippe Auguste who created the Bois de Boulogne in western Paris and Napoleon III who transformed it into a landscaped park in 1852 before donating it to the city of Paris. Leave the city behind you and discover 200-year-old trees, trails, lakes, playgrounds, waterfalls, etc. in an area of 856 hectares. The Bois de Boulogne is home to the Parc de Bagatelle and its thousands of roses, the garden of the Pre - Catelan, the Jardin d’Acclimatation (children’s park) and the Musée des Arts et Traditions Populaires.
