Located in the famous "Quartier des Grands Hommes" district, the neoclassical Grand Théatre was built during the Enlightenment by architect Victor Louis. Twelve Corinthian colonnades decorate the facade, surmounted by statues representing the 9 muses and 3 Roman goddesses: Juno, Minerva and Venus. Incidentally, Garnier was inspired by the interior, in particular the monumental staircase, when he came to design the Paris Opera.
